Mae Klang Waterfall
The Mae Klang Waterfall is an impressive natural phenomenon in northern Thailand, located at the foot of the famous Doi Inthanon (before the official entrance to the National parks). The visit is therefore free of charge and ideal for anyone who wants to enjoy a beautiful nature experience without paying an entrance fee. The waterfall cascades down around 30 meters and is a spectacular sight, especially during the rainy season. An easily accessible path leads you directly to the foot of the waterfall, where you can relax, take photos or simply enjoy the fresh air. Small snack stands and sanitary facilities are also available. Mae Klang is a perfect stopover on the way to Doi Inthanon - quiet, idyllic and easily accessible.
Costs
A visit to Mae Klang Waterfall is free of charge. It is located before the Doi Inthanon National Park. There is a charge for the national park, but as the waterfall is located outside the park grounds, you do not necessarily need a ticket for the national park.
Arrival
The waterfall is located just before the entrance to Doi Inthanon National Park. Just before CheckPoint 1, turn left and you will find a parking lot with plenty of parking spaces. This is free of charge. There are a few small restaurants and toilets on site. From the parking lot, a paved path leads a few hundred meters up to the waterfall.
Overnight stay
The Mae Klang waterfall is located on the outskirts of Chom Thong. If you want to explore the national park extensively, accommodation in this town is the perfect starting point. Otherwise you can also travel from Chiang Mai from Doi Inthanon National Park and make a stopover at Mae Klang Waterfall.
