Ao Nang is one of the most popular beach resorts in Thailand! Geographically, it is located in the province of Krabi, east of the Andaman Sea. Once known as a small fishing village, which lived mainly from the local fishing industry, it became increasingly characterized by tourism from the 1970s onwards. When the first resorts were built, Ao Nang developed into a top vacation destination in southern Thailand and is still a popular choice among travelers....

Journey to Krabi


Krabi has a international airport, which is located around 12 kilometers outside of Krabi Town. Several airlines fly daily from Bangkok to Krabi in around one and a half hours. It is then another 30-40 minutes from the airport to the old town or the popular coastal resort of Ao Nang. A cheaper way to travel from Bangkok would be by long-distance bus, which takes around 10-12 hours to reach the southern vacation region. The journey by car also takes around 10-11 hours. If you are already in Phuket, it only takes two and a half hours to get to Krabi. There is no train connection (the nearest train station is in Surat Thani, about 2 hours away).
