    Yun Lai Viewpoint

In the tranquil mountain landscape of Pai, at around 770 meters, is the beautiful Yun Lai Viewpoint. Translated, this means "the clouds are coming", which in Chinese is associated with positive energy and good luck. From the city center, the drive up to the viewpoint takes about 15 minutes and takes you through the Chinese Yunnan village Santichon Village - This is also the origin of the viewpoint, which is decorated in striking Chinese style. A small fee of 20 baht per person is charged on arrival at the viewpoint. Parking is free (note: be sure to drive up the steep road as there is a charge at the lower parking lot).

In addition to the breathtaking panoramic view of Pai, the spacious area also offers a small café and a traditional Chinese restaurant. In the center of the square is a magnificent pine tree with dozens of heart-shaped lucky charms attached to it. You can buy the colorful talismans on site and immortalize a wish, a word of gratitude or your love for your partner. Below the viewpoint, there is also a small paradise with beautifully manicured flower gardens, a swimming pool and plenty of opportunities to relax. Although the place belongs to a local hotel, you can also come here as a day visitor for a fee of 100 baht to relax in the mountains of Pai.

    Pai Canyon
The Pai Canyon is a fascinating natural spectacle in the north of Thailand! Who would have thought that this country has such deep canyons? It may not be quite as spectacular as the Grand Canyon in the USA, but the comparatively small Pai Canyon is absolutely worth seeing and always worth a visit if you are in the charming mountain region! The canyon, which the locals call Kong Lan, was formed over several centuries by natural erosion processes. More precisely, whenever the soil was eroded by weather-related influences (wind, rain or heat). The result is the formation of narrow, striking rocky gorges with steep slopes, which today resemble a miniature version of the Grand Canyon. The landscape consists mainly of red sandstone, which continues to be shaped by the tropical weather even today.
