As already mentioned, it was previously only available via the fee-based Tourist Visa (TR) possible to increase the length of stay from 30 days to 60 days. However, on May 28, 2024, a new law was passed to boost tourism in Thailand. This includes visa-free travel from 93 countries and a standard length of stay of 60 days. In addition, this duration can be increased once on site by a further 30 days, i.e. up to 90 days. Thailand has thus adjusted both the country and residence regulations.
