Anyone traveling through the north of Thailand should definitely make a stop at the idyllic rice fields! As one of the largest rice producers in the world, the region offers endless, picturesque fields. There are only a few rice fields in the south, but we discovered more and more rice fields on our road trip from Phuket to Chiang Mai - the first of which were in the Kanchanaburi and Ayutthaya regions. The most beautiful rice terraces and fields are clearly located in the north of Thailand. Places worth seeing include Pa Pong Piang in Doi Inthanon National Park, the fields under the Kho Ku So Bamboo Bridge in Pai and the rice fields near the To Tong Tae Bridge in Mae Hong Son. All these places offer you fantastic photo opportunities and prove that Thailand is much more than just a tropical vacation paradise. From Chiang Mai, you can also take a tour to the most beautiful rice terraces in Thailandª (via GetYourGuide) or a Bike tour through the rice fields of Chiang Maiª (via Klook).
