Getting to Koh Lanta

Koh Lanta does not have its own airport and can only be reached by boat. You can fly from Bangkok to Krabi International Airport in one and a half hours and from there continue by minivan or rental car. After around two and a half hours, you will reach the ferry terminal south of Krabi. Here you can buy tickets directly on the spot (cost: 50 baht per person, 30 baht per vehicle). The car ferry runs every quarter of an hour and takes you across to Koh Lanta in 10 minutes. Another way to get there is by speedboat. Especially in the high season between November and April, speedboats run daily from Phuket, Koh Phi Phi or Ao Nang to Koh Lanta. The crossing takes 30-90 minutes, depending on where you start from. On 12go.asiaª you will find practical combination connections for the entire route, e.g. speedboat + minivan, often also with hotel transfer. If you only want to book one ferry, we recommend directferries.comª.

Excursions on Koh Lanta

A stay on Koh Lanta is simply balm for the soul! No other island radiates as much peace and relaxation as this little paradise. Probably for the very reason that most tourists prefer to travel to better-known destinations such as Koh Samui or Phuket and don't even have Koh Lanta on their radar - ideal for anyone who loves nature and quiet places! On Koh Lanta, you can take a trip to the Southern National Park, discover families of monkeys on the streets, relax on beautiful beaches or take a walk in Lanta Old Town. A clear recommendation is a Snorkeling tripª to the southern islands of Koh Chueak, Koh Ngai, Koh Muk and Koh Kradan. If you have a few more days, you could also plan a trip to the dream island of Koh Lipe. You can find an overview of all excursions on GetYourGuideª, Viatorª or Klookª.
