Koh Phangan attractions

Koh Phangan is less known for its exciting sights and more for its very own charm. The small island is famous for its party scene, especially for the Full Moon Party, die jeden Monat zu Vollmond stattfindet.

Koh Nang Yuan

Koh Nang Yuan

To the north of Koh Tao is a small group of islands connected by a sandbank. Koh Nang Yuan is a must-visit for all travelers and is a real postcard motif! Pure nature, mountainous terrain and crystal-clear water. You can only get to this place by boat - either by cab boat (from Sairee Beach, approx. 300 THB p.p. for a return trip) or on a guided day tour, e.g. from Koh Phanganª or Koh Samuiª. As the...
Koh Phaluai

Koh Phaluai

Koh Phaluai is an untouristy island to the south of Ang Thong National Park and a real natural paradise! You won't find this place on a guided tour, and cab boats only operate very rarely. However, if you are on Koh Phangan, you can include this place in your plans. The passenger ferry Raja Ferry runs several times a week between Donsak Pier and Koh Phaluai. For around 400 THB per person, you can reach the island in around 1 1/2 hours....
Ang Thong National Park

Ang Thong National Park

Ang Thong National Park (Mu Ko Ang Thong) is located to the west of the two islands of Koh Phangan and Koh Samui. Due to its surreal rock formations, it is on almost every bucket list. The place consists of numerous limestone islands and lush green vegetation. There are several highlights such as the emerald green Emerald Lake, the famous Monkey Rock or the beautiful viewpoint Phu Jun Jaras. Other activities include snorkeling, kayaking and hiking. The place served as inspiration for Alex...
Koh Ma

Koh Ma

The Koh Ma peninsula is located in the north of Koh Phangan. It is connected to Mae Haad Beach by a strip of sand and can only be accessed at low tide. So be sure to pay attention to the tides if you plan to visit this place. There is not much to see on the island itself, but there is beautiful nature and plenty of shady spots. It's also worth taking snorkeling equipment with you. You can discover lots of colorful fish and coral reefs in the crystal-clear water! The...
Than Sadet National Park

Than Sadet National Park

Than Sadet National Park is located in the east of Koh Phangan, which you can explore for a fee of 100 baht (approx. 2.50 euros). It consists of dense jungle, large rock formations and clear rivers. The park is famous for the historic Than Sadet waterfall, which was once visited by King Rama V, who immortalized his inscriptions in the rock. Unfortunately, the waterfall is very dry, almost parched, especially in the high season - which is why bathing is not always...
Hin Kong

Hin Kong sandbank

Hin Kong is located in the north-west of the island and is not very appealing at first glance. Only at low tide does this beach become a real highlight. As soon as the water recedes, a long walkable sandbank remains, where you can take a romantic stroll into the sunset. Dog owners also enjoy walking their dogs on the beach here. Locals, on the other hand, take the opportunity to collect a few mussels and crabs on the spot. There are several restaurants and cafés on the...
Zen Beach

Zen Beach

Zen Beach is very popular with locals and expats alike! It is located somewhat secluded in the northwest of Koh Phangan and is best reached by scooter. During the day, the white sandy beach is the perfect place to relax and swim, while in the evening it gets really lively and attracts many people who enjoy the sunset together and dance exuberantly in the sand. There are a few bars, seating areas and shady spots on site....
Haad Sadet Beach

Haad Sadet Beach

Haad Sadet Beach is the perfect place for those who love peace and nature. The path to the beach leads through the Than Sadet National Park, which is why a maintenance fee of 100 baht per person must be paid. The bay is very idyllic and offers a dreamlike setting with large rocks, fine sand and turquoise water. Here you can relax during the day, swim, snorkel or spontaneously explore the national park. You might even come across the island's pigs, which are peacefully...
Loyfa-Holina Natural Resort

Loyfa-Holina Natural Resort

The "Loyfa-Holina Natural Resort" is a quiet accommodation in the northwest of the island and offers different room categories (e.g. garden or pool villas, suites with sea view, beach cottages). We opted for a cottage on the beach and were really impressed. Although it is a little small, it is very cozy and every morning we were greeted with a beautiful sunrise! The hotel's own beach is unfortunately less beautiful and very rocky, but the popular Zen Beach is only a few minutes away...
Haad Rin Beach

Haad Rin Beach

At the southern tip of the island is Haad Rin Beach, which has two beaches to offer: Haad Rin Nok (Sunrise Beach) and Haad Rin Nai (Sunset Beach). The famous Full Moon Party takes place every month on Sunrise Beach. But it is also worth making a stop away from the party night. In the small streets you will find many shopping opportunities for souvenirs or clothing. On the beach there are numerous restaurants, beach bars and some water sports activities such as jet skiing. The...
Haad Salad Beach

Haad Salad Beach

Haad Salad Beach in the north of Koh Phangan is known for its coral reefs and colorful underwater world. The sea is generally calm and clear, making this a perfect snorkeling spot. In addition to snorkeling, there are other activities such as kayaking and stand-up paddling. On the beach, you can treat yourself to a Thai massage or try out one of the delicious restaurants. By the way, the famous beach club "Koh Raham" is not far away - you should definitely...
Thong Nai Pan Beach

Thong Nai Pan Beach

Thong Nai Pan Beach consists of two sister bays and is located on the east coast of Koh Phangan. The southern Pan Yai Beach is one of our favorite beaches on the island! Shallow water, fine long sandy beach and turquoise shallow sea. The place is far away from the hustle and bustle of the city and also offers a few beach bars and shady spots. You can go swimming, kayaking or jet skiing on site. The upper bay of Pan Noi is a little livelier, especially in high season. Both...

Getting to Koh Phangan

Koh Phangan can only be reached by ferry, as the island does not have its own airport. Ideally, you should therefore arrive at Koh Samui Airport and take the ferry to Koh Phangan from there. There are also plenty of ferry connections from the mainland (Surat Thani or Chumphon) to the Samui archipelago. We recommend the booking platforms 12go.asiaª or directferries.comª. The best known ferry connection is "Surat Thani (Donsak Pier) - Koh Samui (Mae Nam Pier) - Koh Phangan (Thong Sala Pier) - Koh Tao (Koh Tao Pier)". This route is usually served by local ferry companies such as Lomprayah or Donsak/Raja Ferry.
